Pentecost is placed in the season when lavender starts blooming in Provence, its essential oil infiltrating all the nooks and crannies in homes and countryside.
Pentecost also marks the season where the Spirit of God descended on his everyday saints, anointing them with his essential oil, infiltrating all they do and all they are, anointing them for their daily vocations in the ordinary time ahead.
This is why I included the lavender woman in my book, and placed her at this time in the church calendar.
