Ordinary Time

In Ordinary Time (also known as "the season after Pentecost"), with the help of the Spirit of Christ dwelling in them, the disciples have daily opportunities to live out the truths they’ve learned when they observed the Special Seasons. They bring the holy into their ordinary while busy with the good work the Lord gave them to do.

The santons in the crèche come to Jesus with diverse gifts, skills and tools they use at work. In the vicinity of the Child Christ, they seem to know how to glorify God in all that they do in their ordinary lives, whether they eat or drink, plough or cook, buy or sell
(See 1 Corinthians 10:31).

The little saints also come from all walks of life, generations, and ethnicities – as do we. There are young and old saints, women and men, a few rich though mostly poor, including the strangers in their land.

We, everyday saints, also travel through Ordinary Time in our own land and places, in our gardens, homes, at work and in neighborhoods – each a stage in which we can "earth Jesus" – embody him in the world through all we say and do.
This is art de vivre, the art of living – in all seasons!
