The Art of Living in Season begins now, at the Provençal manger, where attentive crèche keepers set the stage. They prepare the way of the Lord by re-staging Christmas in their own local place, with its own vegetation, in a spirit of quiet reflection. 

Keeping watch for the Christ child with the little saints fosters the practice of watchful waiting in our own place – our terroir. Everyday saints are at their posts. But the baby Jesus is not there: this is not yet his time. We proceed in season.
