“What can I give him?” is the driving question for the santons who come to Jesus on Christmas night. The little saints’ gifts end up being offerings associated with their respective vocations, as they wend their way to Christ. 
More importantly, as Christina Rosetti suggests, what they give is their hearts. How? This is the stuff of the reflections in my Christmas chapter.

Meanwhile, the musician santons, who lead the pilgrimage, contribute their gift of music, lifting up the spirits of their companions, lightening the journey for all.
